YPC NEWSLETTER | SPRING 2007 | ISSUE 07 BIG Night Out 2007 - Another Sold-Out Event!
Co-chairs Christie Connick, Elena Awbrey and Karla Zimmerman along with a team of YPC members planned all aspects of the fundraiser, which is the YPC’s largest event. Guests enjoyed casino-style gambling, a Texas Hold 'Em poker tournament and poker tutorials courtesy of Poker Divas. Kodak was on-site to snap and print candid shots of our guests, offering a unique take-away for the night. Our VIP guests lounged in the 10 Can Rum VIP room and sipped 10 Cane's signature cocktails. Throughout the evening guests were also able to bid on an array of silent auction items. A big thank you goes all of our sponsors for helping to make the event such a success: Goldman Sachs, Weil Gotshal and Manges, Latham and Watkins, Avon, 10 Cane Rum, Intralinks, HEI and Men's Wearhouse. All of the proceeds raised at the event benefit BBBS of NYC's mentoring programs. Although the Trailblazers won (92-86), it was a great night of basketball and fun. YPC Member James Rapp, a Knick season ticket holder who helped organize the evening with the Knicks, attended the game with the group and commented that, "It was a great night. It was special to look back and see the mentors pointing out aspects of the game to attentive Littles, or just watching them join in chants of 'Defense' as the Knicks went on a run to get back into the game."
