BIG Night Out 2007 - Another Sold-Out Event!
On Saturday, February 24th, more than 900 young professionals bet their luck on
behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC (BBBS of NYC) at our annual Big Night Out.
Young Professionals Committee members, volunteer mentors and friends filled Cipriani 23rd
Street for this sold-out event. The evening broke all previous records, raising $200,000!
Co-chairs Christie Connick, Elena Awbrey and Karla Zimmerman along with a team of YPC
members planned all aspects of the fundraiser, which is the YPC’s largest event. Guests
enjoyed casino-style gambling, a Texas Hold 'Em poker tournament and poker tutorials courtesy
of Poker Divas. Kodak was on-site to snap and print candid shots of our guests, offering a
unique take-away for the night. Our VIP guests lounged in the 10 Can Rum VIP room and sipped
10 Cane's signature cocktails. Throughout the evening guests were also able to bid on an array
of silent auction items.
A big thank you goes all of our sponsors for helping to make the event such a success: Goldman Sachs,
Weil Gotshal and Manges, Latham and Watkins, Avon, 10 Cane Rum, Intralinks, HEI and Men's Wearhouse.
All of the proceeds raised at the event benefit BBBS of NYC's mentoring programs. For more than 100
years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC has provided volunteer adult mentors to New York's neediest
children.

NY Knicks Donation
On Thursday, March 22, the New York Knicks donated 75 tickets to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC so
"Littles" in the various BBBS of NYC programs and several children on the waiting list for mentors could
attend the Knicks vs. Portland Trailblazers game. Although the Trailblazers won (92-86), it was a great
night of basketball and fun.
YPC Member James Rapp, a Knick season ticket holder who helped organize the evening with the Knicks,
attended the game with the group and commented that, "It was a great night. It was special to look
back and see the mentors pointing out aspects of the game to attentive Littles, or just watching them join
in chants of 'Defense' as the Knicks went on a run to get back into the game."
If anyone has any connections for sports or other tickets to be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of
NYC, please contact Jessica Andrepont at 212-686-2042.
