workplace mentoring program

Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City’s Workplace Mentoring Group connects high school students with employee volunteers to build skills, confidence, and career readiness.

Companies host twice-monthly sessions at their offices, pairing 12–15 employees with an equal number of students. Each session is led by a BBBS of NYC Program Manager using a structured, engaging curriculum that helps students identify their strengths, set goals, and prepare for life after high school.

By partnering with WMG, companies invest in the next generation of leaders—and their own future workforce.

Career Pathways Program

The Career Pathways Program connects college juniors and seniors with career mentors to design career paths, build networks, and gain experience.

Sessions are virtual and alternate between group activities led by Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City staff and one-on-one mentor-mentee activities, also serving as a talent pipeline for companies.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES (PODS)

A one-time opportunity to connect employees with students through a 90-minute virtual or 2-hour in-person session.

Volunteers engage in interactive activities like career panels, networking practice, mock interviews, or a “Shark Tank”-style challenge.

PODs are great for companies looking to engage multiple departments or employees who may not be able to commit to ongoing mentoring.
